The best hike on Deer Isle, in a lot of people's opinion. The 145-acre Island Heritage Trust preserve has about 3.5 miles of trails through coastal forest between Pickering Cove and Southeast Harbor, with a secluded pocket beach about 15–20 minutes in and remnants of the 1870s Davis Farm homestead on a side trail. Dogs welcome. Year-round, free.
