Deer Isle Thorofare (Mark Island) Lighthouse
Stonington, Maine
Built in 1857 on Mark Island to guide boats through the Thorofare between Deer Isle and Isle au Haut. You can't land on the island — it's not publicly accessible — but you get a good view from the water. Lighthouse weekend in September sometimes includes a special cruise that passes by along with up to six other Maine lighthouses.
